We are three months away from 2020, the holidays are approaching fast, and so is list season. What will be on my Worst and Best lists and what will top them? It’s still too early to say. You’ll have to find out on the 20th and 27th of December.

That’s all the updates I have for now. Stay tuned.

  1. The next two Target Practices are gonna be fun! Are you gonna do a 100 Best Songs of the 2010s like you’ve done for the other decades or anything else to make the end of the 2010s?

      1. And that is based on how there was a pause between the last worst of list of 19xx or 20xx decade and the best of that decade since it takes a little more time to compile ergo something we may see in the first quarter of 2020.

Then there maybe a discussion of the grammys before this year is over as the nominees come out in December.

  2. I noticed you haven’t done a Musical Appreciation in a while, so how about you do one on Cee Lo Green’s “Fuck You”. Even though it’s #2 on your Best of 2011 list, you barely even talk about it. I would like to hear your thoughts on it.

  3. What are your predictions for this year’s grammy awards? Mine are: Record of the Year will go to This is America, Album of the Year will go to Black Panther: the Album, Song of the year will go to Shallow, and Best New Artist will go to H.E.R. I’m sorry, but once someone in the Best New Artist category has five nominations, including Album of the Year, they’re winning no matter how popular their opponents are.

  4. So this is where we reach the end of the line on the worst of lists. Any Ideas on what may replace those? Since you posted a lot of 90s rock n roll in your songs of the week, you might want to do a rock songs series.

  5. I’m planning on listening to the 1958 and 1959 year end lists soon for my best and worst lists for every year of the Billboard Hot 100. I’m already nervous of how my lists will turn out given the warnings you and others have about this era. Can’t wait for 1959 and the best songs of the 60s!

Here are some suggestions for WTF Lyrics:
She Knows by Ne-Yo ft. Juicy J
“I keep me two hoes like that fella Jack Tripper. And I kill that pussy like my name Jack The Ripper.”

GDFR by Flo Rida ft. Sage The Gemini & Lookas
“Ladies put your lipstick up. Double entendre. Double entendre.”

  6. I think a cool idea for next year could be an Underrated Songs Review series, where you can ask your readers to recommend songs that either charted low or didn’t chart at all and you give your opinion on them, along with a grade from A to F (like Billboard Hot 100 Top 40 Review). What do you think about it?

    1. Uhh underrated songs is too broad. Any song that did not make the top five could be underrated as well as the vast sea of songs that don’t get enough rotation.

  7. What are your thoughts on these four 2018 EDM hits: Promises by Calvin Harris feat. Sam Smith, Body by Loud Luxury feat. Brando, Solo by Clean Bandit feat. Demi Lovato and Side Effects by The Chainsmokers feat. Emily Warren? My grades for each are: high B for Promises, low D for Body, A for Solo, and F for Side Effects.
